Following speaking engagements I have been asked to explain my logo...
My logo represents the values that I believe in and try to convey in my work.
The cowboy in my logo represents the values of the true American cowboy—not outlaws or dudes who wear cowboy hats. The cowboy did his job 24-7 in all conditions because it was his job. He looked out for things that were weaker. The cowboy was honest, innovative and self reliant—if he wasn’t he didn’t survive. He had perspective and a sense of humor that kept him going. He rode for the brand, and even when no one was watching, he gave an honest day’s work for a fair day’s pay.
Will Marshall is my pen name. It originated with my desire to someday write great western stories and to be a good storyteller in the mold of the greatest western storyteller, Louis L’Amour.
The four stars represent the four points of the Boy Scout Value compass: The Scout Oath, the Scout Law, The Scout Motto and the Scout Slogan, all of which are shown on the Boy Scout Values Compass page.
