Teen Millionaire Mentor Support
You can help your teen achieve his or her financial independence by becoming a Millionaire Mentor. It’s easy.
For a teen, becoming financially independent requires support from peers through opportunities such as the Teen Millionaires' Club (see the TM Clubs page of this website). But it also requires support from a trusted adult-the teen’s Millionaire Mentor.
The Millionaire Mentor helps a teen along the road to financial freedom. Teens often need help opening a discount brokerage account and an IRA. They need trustworthy advice on types of mutual funds to open (see the TM Investing page of this website.) and teens can always use support or introductions as they identify and pursue opportunities to earn money to save. Teens under age 18, may need an adult cosigner to open a Uniform Trust Act for Minors Account (UTMA).
And teens can always use encouragement and motivation. Parents, grandparents, or other relatives may want to encourage a young person by agreeing to match or partially match every dollar that the Teen Millionaire puts into and keeps in the Teen Millionaire’s investment account.
After identifying a candidate who the Teen Millionaire wants to be his or her Millionaire Mentor, the Teen should review his Millionaire Planner with his mentor and formally ask the candidate mentor to become his Millionaire Mentor, to coach and encourage the Teen Millionaire as s/he implements the commitments that the Teen Millionaire has made to himself. As the Millionaire Mentor, you and the Teen Millionaire should make the commitments to each other shown below. Then the Teen Millionaire should present you with the Millionaire Mentor Certificate from the TM Millionaire Mentor Certificate page of this website. Please frame and hang this certificate in your home office as a reminder to both you and the Teen Millionaire of your support for the Teen Millionaire’s goal of financial freedom.
Thank you for serving as your Teen’s Millionaire Mentor.
